Asian Cooking Classes @ MCC w/Chef Phill Demott


Maui’s Asian Markets Cooking Class
October 6 - 27 6 p.m.. to 8 p.m..
Learn about the variety of Asian markets on Maui - where they are located, what they sell, how to get the best deals, and how to cook the wonderful foods they contain. Class will focus on the health benefits of fresh grown and caught products. Week 1 - Fish Markets - How to prepare steamed fresh fish, shrimp and crab, Hot and sour fish soup, and some basic sushi! Week 2 - Produce Markets - Dishes will include fresh salads and vegetable stir fries. Week 3 - Asian Condiments, Herbs and Spices - Dishes will include salt baked chicken, spinach with peanut sauce, and tapioca desserts. Week 4 - Rice, Noodles and Grains - Dishes will include vegan fried brown rice, baked tofu, Japanese five ingredient rice and baked shrimp with mung bean noodles.
